As more seniors advance into Medicare eligibility, Humana noted decreases in its Medicare Advantage population leading to new consideration for how it will approach its commercial Medicare products. Changes, according to Modern Healthcare reporting, will take place geographically and will include premium increases.

Humana tinkers with Medicare Advantage plans amid higher costs

Humana is modifying its Medicare Advantage products for 2025 amid industrywide struggles with higher costs under the program, the company announced along with its second-quarter results Wednesday.

Medicare Advantage membership grew in the second quarter while total membership declined. Profits dropped, as well, despite improved revenue, Humana reported.
